Rise in antisemitism in US, Europe preceded Washington shooting: What to know
In the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia, the number and severity of antisemitic incidents continue to rise.
The attack outside the Jewish Museum in Washington on Wednesday night, which left two Israeli Embassy staffers dead, has sent shockwaves across the United States. But many American Jews say they weren’t surprised, citing a sharp rise in antisemitic attacks over the past 19 months.
Europe, Canada and Australia have also registered an uptick in antisemitic events since Hamas' attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, and Israel's subsequent devastating war in Gaza.
