Iranian, Saudi officials in India as more airlines halt service amid Pakistan row
Iranian and Saudi officials headed to New Delhi in separate visits following Indian airstrikes in Pakistan that raised fears of war between the neighboring countries.
Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir met in New Delhi with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Thursday on an unannounced trip coinciding with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s own visit to the South Asian nation amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
In a post on X early on Thursday, Jaishankar said he held a “good meeting” with Jubeir.
“Shared India’s perspectives on firmly countering terrorism,” he added, in an apparent reference to India's airstrikes in Pakistan this week.
No further details of the talks were available.
