Iran denies role in alleged plot on Israel's UK embassy: What to know
The UK press reported that five Iranian men were arrested in the UK on Saturday on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack at the Israeli Embassy in Kensington, West London.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied reports on Wednesday that Iran was involved in a plot to attack the Israeli Embassy in London, after five Iranian nationals were arrested in the United Kingdom over the weekend on suspicion of planning an act of terrorism.
“Iran in no uncertain terms categorically rejects any involvement in such actions and confirms that we have not been informed of any allegations via proper diplomatic channels,” Araghchi wrote on the X platform.

UK news outlets reported that eight men were detained Saturday in counter-terrorism raids across England, seven of them Iranians. The Times and the BBC reported that five of the Iranians were arrested on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism.
The men, aged 24, 29, 29, 40 and 46, were arrested in Swindon, London, Stockport, Rochdale and Manchester, over an alleged plan to target “a specific premises,” the Met said.
