Spain arrests 3 suspects accused of supplying Hezbollah with drone parts
This is the second time in under a year that Spanish authorities have arrested individuals with links to Hezbollah.
The Spanish Civil Guard conducted an operation on Tuesday in Barcelona targeting individuals with alleged links to Hezbollah, with Spanish media reporting that at least three people were arrested.
What happened: The Civil Guard — an armed military force that reports to Spain’s ministries of interior and defense — began the operation early Tuesday morning and targeted an apartment in Calle Valencia at 5 a.m. local time.
According to Spanish media, three suspects were arrested in connection with acquiring and facilitating the supply of drone parts to Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group in Lebanon. Multiple media outlets reported that the investigation was focused on Lebanese nationals, but the identity of those arrested has not yet been disclosed by Spanish authorities.
