Israel pushes militarily in southern Syria as new strikes kill 3: What we know
Israel said earlier that it struck military sites in southern Syria while the government reported three civilians were killed.
Israeli forces advanced further into Syrian territory on Tuesday, according to local media, following more strikes in the area.
What happened: The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday that Israeli forces advanced into the southern part of the Ma’ariya village, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Daraa and close to the Jordanian border. The observatory noted that Israel sometimes searches for weapons and carries out reconnaissance operations in the area.
The local news outlet Daraa 24 reported that Israeli infantry forces infiltrated the southern parts of the village early Tuesday morning local time.
The Israeli military did not comment.
