Zelenskyy heads to Turkey to meet with Erdogan amid US-Russia talks
The Ukrainian president's visit to Turkey will coincide with US-Russia talks on a potential ceasefire.
ANKARA — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to travel to Turkey on Tuesday to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ahead of upcoming direct talks between the United States and Russia.
Erdogan and Zelenskyy will discuss steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine, as well as regional and international issues, during their meeting in Ankara, Erdogan’s communications chief, Fahrettin Altun, said on Monday.
“The strategic partnership between Turkey and Ukraine will be reviewed in all aspects, and steps to strengthen cooperation between the two countries will be discussed,” Altun wrote on his X account.
“In addition, there will be an exchange of views on the latest developments in Ukraine, as well as other regional and global issues,” Altun added.
