Congratulatory messages over Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections started pouring in from the Middle East and North Africa on Wednesday.

Trump won the electoral race after securing 277 electoral votes, becoming the 47th president of the United States. He defeated his Democratic rival Vice President Kamala Harris, who had received 224 electoral votes as of Wednesday morning.

Trump’s presidency will impact the region, where tensions between Israel and Iran are running high and the wars in Gaza and Lebanon continue.
