Erdogan invites Trump to Turkey, seeking end to US-Syrian Kurd alliance
The Turkish president described his conversation with the US president-elect as “sincere,” revealing that it had taken place while Donald Trump was at a family dinner that included Elon Musk.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hinted at the possibility of reaching an agreement with President-elect Donald Trump on ending the United States' alliance with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Pentagon’s top partner in the fight against the Islamic State in Syria, according to Turkish media reports.
Speaking to reporters aboard a flight home from a European summit in Hungary on Thursday, the Turkish leader said that he had invited Trump to visit Turkey in a phone call the day prior.
“He had very nice things to say about Turkey regarding the period ahead,” Erdogan said. “We invited him to our country. I hope he accepts.” Erdogan was among the first world leaders to congratulate Trump on his victory.
