After UAE visit, Qatari PM holds talks in Iran as Hamas officials depart Doha
A Gulf political official told Al-Monitor on Wednesday that the Qatari prime minister's visit to the UAE is designed to communicate Doha's new policy toward Hamas, where it seeks to be more in alignment with them regarding the group.
DUBAI — Qatar's prime minister concluded this week visits to the United Arab Emirates and Iran as the Gulf state conveys its new policy toward Hamas after the group's political leadership departed Doha.
Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed al-Thani, who also serves in a dual role as the country's foreign minister, visited Tehran on Wednesday where he met Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and the country's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, after visiting Emirati President Mohammed bin Zayed in the UAE on Tuesday.
The meeting in Abu Dhabi was at held at Qasr Al Shati Palace, the UAE’s state news agency WAM reported.
