A new animal center in Cairo has opened an outdoor gym for dogs to get physically fit and help them improve their mental health. Eastwind Training Center launched the new dog gym in 6th of October City in the outskirts of Cairo this month to socialize the dogs and help them lose weight through exercise.

The gym also assists dog owners to discipline their pets by teaching them ways to effectively communicate with their dogs and prevent unwanted behavior.

"Training helps build a lasting relationship and strengthens the bond between the owners and their dogs," Yasser Mansour, an administrative member of staff at the center, told Al-Monitor.

The gym is equipped with obstacle and show jumping courses, and provides dogs and their owners with sports training activities that benefit the pets' physical and psychological health.
