Oil rises amid renewed US-Iran fighting

Iran launched a wave of attacks on US sites across the Middle East on Wednesday after an extensive American bombardment.

The six-month conflict between Iran and the United States has seen its heaviest exchange in weeks, while two tankers carrying Saudi oil were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. In Syria, international payment systems Mastercard and Visa announced their return to the country for the first time since the nation was plunged into civil war in 2011.
