DUBAI/WASHINGTON, June 28 (Reuters) - The U.S. military said it struck Iran again, hours after a tanker was hit in the Strait of Hormuz, in the worst escalation since the two sides signed an interim peace deal two weeks ago.
Each of the warring sides has accused the other of violating the agreement reached two weeks ago to end the four-month-old conflict.
WASHINGTON, June 27 (Reuters) - The United States carried out further strikes on Iran on Saturday, said the U.S. Central Command, targeting various sites, including military surveillance infrastructure.
"CENTCOM forces launched strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping," CENTCOM said in a statement.

June 27 (Reuters) - A strong earthquake struck Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region on Saturday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said, sending out tremors that could be felt from the capital Kabul across the border into neighbouring Pakistan.
People ran out of their doors in panic in Swat district in northern Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resident Daniyal Ahmad told Reuters. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
“It was very huge here in Swat and it lasted for quite a long time,” he said.
June 27 (Reuters) - Israel struck southern Lebanon on Saturday, a day after the two countries signed a U.S.-brokered security arrangement aimed at easing tensions along their border after months of hostilities.
Lebanon's state news agency said an Israeli drone struck in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, which lies outside a security zone shown on a map published by Israel of an expanded zone its troops control in southern Lebanon.

June 27 - President Donald Trump’s interim agreement to end the war with Iran hasdragged down his approval rating and garnered criticism across the political spectrum — even from his own supporters.
Recent interviews with 18 Americans who voted for Trump in 2024, a group that Reuters has interviewed monthly since he returned to office, show that most have doubts about the deal, which has reopened the Strait of Hormuz while temporarily lifting U.S. oil sanctions on Iran and authorizing a $300 billion fund for its reconstruction.

DUBAI/WASHINGTON, June 27 (Reuters) - Iran said it struck targets linked to U.S. forces on Saturday in response to U.S. airstrikes on its southern coast, as each side continued to accuse the other of violating last week's agreement meant to end the four-month-old war.
Iran's foreign ministry did not identify the locations of its "defensive" attacks, which it said were a response to "the barbaric air strikes" by the U.S. on its coastal surveillance facilities, which it said also violated the U.N. Charter.
Washington on Friday released text of a trilateral framework between Israel, Lebanon and the United States aimed at ending hostilities that have been a violent second front of the Middle East war.

WASHINGTON, June 26 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that the framework agreement reached with Israel and Lebanon establishes a clear process to restore Lebanon's sovereignty, disarm Hezbollah and dismantle its infrastructure.
The agreement enables Israel to return to its borders once the threat to its citizens is removed and creates a trilateral Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, facilitated by the United States, Rubio said in a statement.
