Professor Raphael Walden is an Israeli physician and senior surgeon. He teaches medicine at the Tel Aviv University, and serves as Sheba hospital deputy director. Walden is also a social activist. He chairs the NGO, Physicians for Human Rights, in the framework of which he attends to Palestinians and refugees. For his actions he was bestowed with the French highest honor, the Legion of Honor award. He is also a board member of the Israeli NGO, To Give. Raphael Walden is married to Professor Tsvia Walden, daughter of President Shimon Peres, and serves as his personal physician.
