DAVOS, Switzerland — The wars in Ukraine and the Middle East are set to dominate the discussion at the World Economic Forum, which begins on Monday evening in Davos, amid heightened political and business uncertainty in the Red Sea, one of the world’s key shipping routes.

More than 300 high-profile public figures will gather at the summit in the Swiss Alpine ski resort, including more than 60 heads of state and government. The summit runs through Friday under the theme of “Rebuilding Trust,” and will also include panels on topics ranging from artificial intelligence and private equity to public health and climate change.

An estimated 1,600 business leaders, including over 800 CEOs, will participate and around 3,000 delegates are expected to attend in total, not including the many side events that are taking place in the town of 11,000 people.
