Iran, Saudi Arabia FMs meet in China, agree to expand ties

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Saudi Arabia's Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud have agreed to reinstate diplomatic offices and resume flights between the two countries.

The Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers met in Beijing on Thursday for the first official gathering of top diplomats in more than seven years to establish diplomatic and economic agreements, highlighting China’s growing influence in the region.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced in a tweet that he made a agreement with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to reinstate consulates and embassies as well as flights between the two countries. No further details were announced.
