Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday. The call constitutes a further sign of strengthening Saudi-Chinese relations following the Chinese-brokered reconciliation deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran as well as major energy deals.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation. Prince Mohammed also “expressed Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for the Chinese initiative to support the development of good neighborly relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran,” according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
