One killed, 63 wounded in Iran attack on Kuwait airport
Iran on Wednesday launched a wave of drones and missiles that hit a terminal at Kuwait International Airport, causing material damage, killing at least one person and wounding several others according to Kuwait’s state news agency.
The attack forced Kuwait Airways to suspend its operations while flights were diverted to alternative airports until further notice, the airline said.

The airport attack comes after Bahrain’s military said on Wednesday that its air defenses successfully intercepted three missiles and several drones fired by Iran.
For its part, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday it launched a swarm of drones and missiles that struck the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters, based in Bahrain, in response to what it said was a US attack on Qeshm Island.
“These responses should serve as a lesson,” the IRGC added in a statement.
However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the Iranian attacks on US bases and forces in Bahrain failed.
The renewed attacks in the Gulf come a day after Iran claimed US forces fired airborne projectiles at an IRGC communications tower in the southern part of Qeshm Island, which the US described as “self-defense strikes” in retaliation for “attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East.”
The flare-up threatened to spill into US-Iran diplomacy, with Iran’s Fars News Agency reporting Tuesday that message exchanges between Washington and Tehran through Pakistani intermediaries had stopped for several days because of the ongoing conflict. Later on Tuesday, Trump denied the reports, describing them as “false and erroneous” and saying that conversations between the two sides have been ongoing.
Meanwhile, Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon continued to exchange fire on Wednesday despite a partial ceasefire announced by Trump earlier this week. Lebanon and Israel opened two days of US-mediated talks in Washington on Tuesday.
