צה"ל נתפס כצבא פורץ דרך שפותח כל הזמן מקצועות נוספים בפני נשים, אבל כעת קמו רבנים שמרנים מהציונות הדתית והכריזו מלחמה. הרמטכ"ל מנסה להרגיע את הרוחות, אבל לכולם ברור שהימים בהם צה"ל היה נושא דגל הליברליזם והשוויון בישראל אינם עוד.
