وقررت الحكومة العراقية، أخيرا، إغلاق منفذي ربيعة في الموصل والوليد في الأنبار مع سوريا، وذلك بعد أن أغلقت منفذ طريبيل في الانبار مع الاردن.
وتشهد محافظتي الأنبار ومركزها الرمادي ونينوى ومركزها الموصل، فضلا عن مدن أخرى، احتجاجات يومية على ما يوصف بسياسة إقصاء السنة التي تتبناها حكومة رئيس الوزراء العراقي نوري المالكي. وغالبية سكان الأنبار والموصل هم من السنة العرب.
