Iran and Brazil's June 16 volleyball match featured intense action inside and protests outside as Iranian women were not allowed into Azadi stadium. However, the controversy, including a new ban on female journalists, has not dimmed appreciation for the game in this nation of volleyball enthusiasts.

Brazil supporters cheer on their team in its match against Iran. Female supporters of Brazil were allowed in as long as they showed their passports.
