Kuwait's ruler travels to US for treatment after surgery

Following an unspecified surgery Sunday, the 91-year-old emir flew to the United States "as advised by his medical team."

Kuwait's 91-year-old ruler flew to the United States today to complete his treatment following an unspecified surgery on Sunday, the state media outlet reported. 

The report from the state-run KUNA news agency did not provide any further information on what sort of medical care Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah needed in the United States or where he would receive it.
