RAFAH, Gaza Strip — Since the beginning of the blockade on the Gaza Strip in June 2007, Israel enlisted automobiles as part of the banned goods in Gaza, in addition to other major products.
The importation of cars from Israel into the territories of the Palestinian Authority (PA) is governed by Article 11 of the Paris Protocol, which states: “Used motor vehicles will be imported only if they are passenger cars or dual-purpose passenger cars of a model of no more than three years prior to the importation year.”
