Hezbollah leader Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah's rare public appearance in Lebanon drew hundreds of thousands of supporters this week, many of them women and children. Preethi Nallu captures images of the crowds, who gathered to peacefully protest an anti-Islam video that has sent shockwaves through the Muslim world.
These ardent Hezbollah supporters ran to take their places in the demonstration. In the background are Mahdi Scouts, who welcomed Pope Benedict XVI at Rafiq Hariri International Airport just days before. It appears that Hezbollah prioritized a calm atmosphere and delayed its demonstration until after the end of the Pope's visit.
